Croteam's game won the GameSpot "Best Game of 2001" Award. Congratulations for them ! I've been trying to interview the team, but seems that it will be more difficult now!
It's an amazing achievement that a game made in Croatia wins such an important title. It's also a proof that outstanding games can be made in the most diverse countries. Operation Flashpoint, by Bohemia Interactive (from Prague), was also in the top 10. I've read the postmortem published on gamasutra and became very impressed with their work. They weren't professional developers before the project start and made one of the most complete war games avaliable.
Eastern europe is doing fine.
