WHAT IS SAPUCAÍ
?
It is the name of avenue in dowtown of Rio de
Janeiro City where a specific area was constructed for the parade
of the samba schools. The build was done specially to watch it.
HOW IS SAMBA SCHOOL PARADE
?
Thousands of people parade wearing original
costume, dancing and singing samba. Its celebrated for two days.
There is a competition among them and only one will be the winner.
It is considered the bigger spetacle on earth.
WHEN IS THE SAMBA SCHOOL PARADE
?
It occurs in February,
during Carnival time - February is
the month of carnival in Brazil (
even though celebrated sometimes it takes place in March).
WHO MAY PARADE ?
Everyone. No
distinction is made. If you are brazilian or not, tall or short, white
or black, it does not matter. The brazilians love to meet people from over
the world and they will be pleased to welcome you.
HOW TO PARADE ?
To parade in a Samba School is not complicated.
If you do not know how to samba, do not shy. You have to make an effort
to sing, skip and move to the music as much as possible. As s matter-of-fact
you will not play the fool.

?
If it is carnival time, add to everything
else an amazing explosion of popular celebration unique throughout the
world. It is summer and anything goes in Rio during this event. It is as
though the Carioca`s soul were on vacation, but the kind of vacation that
could be described as busy, full of fun and even hectic. If you are on
the seashore and sunddenly you hear a drum band rapping rhythmically somewhere
around you with beautiful girls, guys and luxury Drag Queens, do not let
that startle you. This is the Carnival in Rio. Do not worry. It can spring
up any time any place.
WHAT CAN YOU DO IN RIO
?
The city offers a variety of cultural and
sightseeing tours for yours tourists. Pre-, during or Post- Carnival you
may make everyone tours. There are beautiful parks to visit, such as Tijuca
National Park, Botanical Garden, Flamengo Parks and Quinta da Boa Vista
Park. There are also interesting and unusual museums to be visited. And
you must not forget to take a stroll by streetcar around Santa Tereza District,
where you will find lovely old and historic place. You can visit Corcovado
Peak, crowned by the statue of Christ the Redeemer or to take a cable car
ride to the Urca Hill first and then on to the famous Sugar Loaf. You will
get an impressive view of marvellous Guanabara Bay. Try starting your day
with what is best in Rio - the beaches - on the warm sands crowded lovely
girls and guys. There are also among old-historic and new-modern building
in downtown, Maracanã Stadium, the gigantic Rio-Niteroi Bridge,
romantic Paquetá Island and Gavea`s Racetrack. This last, set in
magnificient surroundings close to Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon. The leading
hotels and restaurants, the most attractives shop, stores and shoppings
centers, and the best of the nightlife are all concentrated in the south
