Date of Birth, 30 October 1941 Place of Birth, SESIMBRA, Portugal (location of the first official World Championship of Spear Fishing) Started to practices the Spear Fishing activity with 14 years old. In 1958, became member of the Spear Fishing Team in the Club, S. L. BENFICA where, during the next 15 years, won several competitions in the both disciplines, Spear Fishing and Swimming with Fins.By 1974, quit the Sportive Life, to start the Career of Sportive Director. Speaking Portuguese, English, French and Spanish. Sportive Director Activity By 1975, was elected President of the Nautical Club of Sesimbra, staying on that position until 1987. From that moment up to 1995, was always in charge of the Under Water Activity of the Club, and created the conditions to turn Sesimbra one of the main places in Portugal to the practice of all Diving Activities. By 1978, was elected President of the Portuguese Federation of Under Water Activities and up to 1982, was responsible for all the under water activity in Portugal. During that period was responsible for the Organisation of one European Championship of Spear Fishing and the Delegate of Portugal in the following CMAS (World Confederation of Under Water Activities) General Assemblies:   February 1979 - Mónaco December 1980 - Cancun ( México ) January 1983 - Barcelona ( Espanha ) February 1985 - Miami (USA) November 1987 - Malta November 1989 - Nagoya ( Japan )   During the CMAS Assembly of Monaco, (Feb.79) become Member of the Spear Fishing Commission. During the General Assembly of Nagoya, (Nov, 89) was elected Vice President of the Commission, keeping that position until 1994. Holder of the CMAS International Referee Identification Card N° 002. Between 1995 and 1997, I have to stop all my Sportive Activity, due a professional commitment, which, oblige me to move to Far East. Begin of 1977, I did return to Portugal, with the Status of Retirement from my Professional life and got the position of Vice President of Nautical Club in Sesimbra ( Portugal ), taking care again of the Under Water Activities of the Club, with much more time available to the Sport Activities. In Parallel and during the last 3 years, I have been Assisting the President of Brasil Confederation of Underwater Activities, Organizing Spear Fishing Competitions (World Championship of Spear Fishing in Arraial do Cabo Brasil, 2002) and Providing Training to Referees and Divers on the discipline of Spear fishing. Recently I did Represent Officially Brasil, in the Assembly of Presidents of the Americas Federations, held in Iquique Peru, during the last World Championship of Spear fishing (Nov 2004).
